Overview
If your passport is lost/damaged, please report it immediately.
Under the Passports Act (Chapter 220), you must report a lost passport within 14 days of losing it. We recommend you report it immediately.
Once reported, a passport cannot be used for travel, even if it is found later. If you recover your passport after submitting the lost report, you must surrender it to ICA within 14 days. Failure to do so is an offence punishable by a fine, imprisonment, or both.
A passport is considered damaged if:
- It is torn in any way
- There are missing/detached pages
- The binding has come loose or is frayed
- Water damage has resulted in faded pages
- The RFID is clearly damaged
- The biodata page is cracked/detached
