Overview
Eligibility
You can only appeal if your previous application was officially rejected.
Do not submit an appeal if:
- Your application is still pending. Wait for the outcome instead.
- You have not applied before. Submit a new application instead.
Each appeal is assessed on its own merits. ICA considers factors such as the individual’s family ties to Singapore Citizens, economic contributions, qualifications, age, family profile, and length of residency. These help us assess the applicant’s ability to contribute to Singapore, integrate into our society, and their long-term commitment to Singapore.
Documents Required
You can upload new documents and official translations to support your appeal.
You will need to provide original documents and official translations (for documents in languages other than English).
ICA accepts:
- Translations provided by the embassy of the country/place that issued the document
- Translations produced by a notary public in Singapore or the country/place that issued the document
- Privately created translations attested by the embassy of the country/place that issued the document, or notarised by a notary public in Singapore or the country/place that issued the document
ICA does not endorse any private translation companies or entities. Insufficient documentation may result in non-acceptance of your application. You may be required to provide additional documents to support your appeal.
Fees
There is no fee for the submission of appeals.
