Notice to Singapore Citizens Travelling Abroad

  • Check passport validity and condition
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months before departure. It must also be in good condition, with no torn or missing pages. You may be refused entry at foreign airports if your passport is damaged or appears tampered with.
  • Secure entry visas
Ensure you have the required entry visa for your destination country. For information on visa requirements and overseas consular offices, visit the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) website.
  • Register travel itinerary
Record information about your itinerary on MFA’s eRegister system. This allows MFA to contact you to make sure you are safe and, if need be, assist you should an emergency (for example, a natural disaster, civil unrest) occur.
  • Verify passport endorsements
Check your passport endorsements as soon as you arrive at or depart from foreign countries. If you notice any discrepancies, contact the local police or immigration authority immediately.
