Overview of Eligible Nationals
If you are transiting to or from a third country via Singapore, you may be eligible for the 96-hour Visa Free Transit Facility (VFTF) if you are a national of:
- The Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan)
- Georgia
- India
- Turkmenistan
- Ukraine
It is also available to holders of the following documents (excluding ordinary, diplomatic, public affairs or service PRC passport holders):
- People's Republic of China (PRC) Travel Document
- Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Document of Identity (DOI)
- Macau SAR Travel Permit

Meeting the VFTF criteria does not guarantee entry into Singapore. You must also meet prevailing entry requirements. ICA officers will assess and determine your entry at the checkpoint. You cannot extend your stay under the VFTF.
Nationals of India and Eligible PRC, Hong Kong SAR and Macau SAR Document Holders
If you are transiting to or from a third country via Singapore, you may be eligible for the 96-hour VFTF if you meet these requirements:
- Transport and onward ticket
You may enter Singapore by any mode of transport but depart only via air or sea. You must have a valid onward air, ferry, or cruise ticket departing Singapore within 96 hours. - Valid visa or long-term pass (Applicable to Indian nationals only)
You must have a valid visa or long-term pass that is valid for at least 1 month from your date of entry into Singapore. It must be issued by, or valid for entry into, one of the following countries:
- Australia
- Canada
- Germany
- Japan
- New Zealand
- Switzerland
- United Kingdom
- United States of America
Travelling on a Single Journey Visa
If you have a Single Journey Visa (SJV) issued by one of the countries listed above, you may be granted VFTF on your return journey (even if the SJV has been used and is no longer valid), provided you:
- Travel directly from the country that issued the SJV, en route through Singapore, back to your home country
- Have not returned to your home country since you last used the SJV
Nationals of the CIS, Georgia, Turkmenistan and Ukraine
If you are transiting to or from a third country via Singapore, you may be eligible for the 96-hour VFTF if you meet these requirements:
- Transport and onward ticket
You may enter Singapore by any mode of transport but depart by air. You must have a valid onward air ticket departing Singapore within 96 hours.
