Biometric Identification of Motorbikers
The Biometric Identification of Motorbikers (BIKES) System uses biometric technology to provide efficient and secure automated immigration clearance for eligible motorcyclists at Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints.
All travellers are eligible to use BIKES for free.
You can use BIKES if you hold an International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) compliant passport, and you belong to one of the following categories:
| Categories | Prerequisites |
| Singapore Citizens, Singapore Permanent Residents, or Long-Term Pass Holders | Biometric identifiers (iris/facial/fingerprints) have been enrolled with ICA. |
| Holder of a Work Pass (Work Permit, S Pass, Employment Pass or Dependant’s Pass) | Biometric identifiers (iris/facial/fingerprints) have been enrolled with Ministry of Manpower (MOM). |
| Social visitors on departure | Biometric identifiers (iris/facial/fingerprints) have been enrolled during arrival immigration clearance. |
1. BIKES allows motorcyclists and their pillion rider to conduct self-service immigration clearance.
At Kiosk
2. Rider and/or their pillion rider can present their QR code(s) or passport(s) at the kiosk for immigration clearance.

For a single rider
Rider can either scan a QR code with the QR code scanner or insert passport into the passport reader.
For rider with a pillion rider
a) Rider with a pillion rider can either scan a QR code (individually) or a Group QR code with the QR code scanner; or
b) Insert passports into the passport reader.
At Clearance Bay
3. When the barrier opens, the rider enters the clearance bay and inserts the AutoPass/Cashcard into the card reader.
4. Rider with a pillion rider can present their biometrics for identity verification.1

For a single rider
Rider should look at the facial camera when prompted. To ensure successful facial verification, please lift up visors and remove sunglasses and masks, if any.
For rider with a pillion rider
Rider with a pillion rider should each look at their respective facial cameras when prompted. To ensure successful facial verification, please lift up visors and remove sunglasses and masks, if any.
If verification via facial biometric is unsuccessful, travellers will be prompted to provide their fingerprint biometric.
5. After successful biometric verification, the light strips on the facial camera will turn green, and the exit barrier will be raised.

1 Facial recognition will be progressively extended to the different motorcycle clearance zones at the land checkpoints. Details will be announced in due course. Motorcycle clearance zones not ready for facial recognition will continue to prompt motorcyclists for their fingerprint biometric.
