Biometrics for identity verification

For a single rider

Rider should look at the facial camera when prompted. To ensure successful facial verification, please lift up visors and remove sunglasses and masks, if any.

For rider with a pillion rider

Rider with a pillion rider should each look at their respective facial cameras when prompted. To ensure successful facial verification, please lift up visors and remove sunglasses and masks, if any.

If verification via facial biometric is unsuccessful, travellers will be prompted to provide their fingerprint biometric.

5. After successful biometric verification, the light strips on the facial camera will turn green, and the exit barrier will be raised.

Successful biometric verification

Facial recognition will be progressively extended to the different motorcycle clearance zones at the land checkpoints. Details will be announced in due course. Motorcycle clearance zones not ready for facial recognition will continue to prompt motorcyclists for their fingerprint biometric.
