In Person at a Singapore Overseas Mission

Proceed to the nearest Singapore Overseas Mission to apply in person.

For identification and security reasons, you must attend the Mission in person at least once, either when you complete your application or when you collect your passport. If you apply online, you will need to produce all required documents when you collect your passport.

For applications in person at a Singapore Overseas Mission, a passport fee of S$80 in foreign currency equivalent is payable. The Singapore Overseas Mission will advise on the exact amount.

For online applications, a passport fee of S$70 is payable. Payment can be made using either:

  • Visa or MasterCard credit/debit card,
  • American Express (AMEX) credit card,
  • Internet direct debit (DBS/POSB, OCBC, UOB, Standard Chartered Bank and Citibank Internet banking accounts in Singapore), or
  • PayNow

If your passport is lost or damaged, you will need to pay an additional non-refundable penalty fee for a replacement passport:

  • S$50 for the first replacement
  • S$100 for subsequent replacements.

Processing Time

Applications are usually processed in around three to four weeks if we have all the necessary documents. If your application is successful, your new passport will be sent to your nearest Singapore Overseas Mission.
Passport Validity

If you have a valid passport with a remaining validity of nine months or less when applying for a new passport, the remaining validity will be carried over to your new passport. In this case, your new passport will have a validity of five years, plus the remaining validity of your old passport (up to nine months).
