Eligibility

You are eligible to apply for a Long-Term Visit Pass if you are a:

 

Spouse of a Singapore citizen

Singapore citizen – Non-resident (NR) couples are strongly encouraged to complete their Pre-Marriage LTVP Assessment (PMLA) before marriage.

A foreign spouse of a Singapore citizen can apply for a Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) after marriage under the sponsorship of their Singapore citizen spouse.  ICA will assess the foreign spouse’s eligibility for LTVP Plus (LTVP+) during the LTVP application. There is no separate application for LTVP+.

 

Spouse of a Singapore Permanent Resident (PR)

A foreign spouse of a Singapore PR can apply for a Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) after marriage under the sponsorship of his/her PR spouse.

 

Child under the age of 21 (unmarried) born within the context of a legal marriage to a Singapore citizen/Singapore Permanent Resident (PR), or has been legally adopted by a Singapore citizen/Singapore Permanent Resident (PR)

A child under the age of 21, who is not married and born within the context of a legal marriage to a Singapore citizen or PR, or has been legally adopted by, a Singapore citizen or PR, can apply for a Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) under the sponsorship of the Singapore citizen or PR parent.

 

Parent of a Singapore citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident (PR)

Parent(s) of a Singapore citizen or PR can apply for a Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) under the sponsorship of their Singapore citizen or PR child. The Singapore citizen or PR sponsor must be above 21 years old.

Note: Parent(s)-in-law of a Singapore citizen or PR are not eligible to apply for an LTVP under their sponsorship.

 

Graduate from an Institute of Higher Learning seeking employment in Singapore

A graduate from an Institute of Higher Learning can apply for a Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) to seek employment in Singapore. No sponsor is required for the LTVP application.

 

Mother or Grandmother of a young person studying in Singapore on a Student’s Pass

The mother or grandmother of a Student’s Pass holder studying in eligible schools in Singapore can apply for a Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP). A local sponsor, who is a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident (PR) above 21 years old, is required for the LTVP application.

 

Visitor seeking permission to give birth in Singapore

A female visitor can apply for a Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) to give birth in Singapore. A local sponsor, who is a Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident (PR) above 21 years old, is required for the LTVP application.


Fees

A S$45 non-refundable processing fee is applicable for each application.

Payment can be made using:
  • Visa or MasterCard credit/debit card or,
  • American Express (AMEX) credit card or,
  • Internet Direct Debit (Citibank, DBS/POSB, OCBC, UOB and Standard Chartered Bank Internet accounts in Singapore) or,
  • PayNow

Note: Additional fees will apply if the Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) application is granted in-principle approval.


Processing Time

All LTVP applications are carefully considered and reviewed by ICA. Applications are generally processed within six weeks, provided all the required documents are submitted and in order.

LTVP application by foreign spouse of Singapore citizen who did not complete the Pre-Marriage Long-Term Visit Pass Assessment (PMLA) will take longer, up to six months, to be processed.

You will be informed of the outcome of the LTVP application via email. You may also check the LTVP application status online through MyICA or the e-Service.

Digital Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP)

With effect from 27 Feb 2023, a digital Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) will be issued in place of a physical LTVP card.

The digital LTVP can be viewed directly on the Singpass app, or downloaded from MyICA or FileSG website in PDF or OA format.
