A birth extract is a certified true copy of a birth certificate. It replaces a lost or damaged birth certificate.

ICA Registry of Births and Deaths only maintains records of births that occurred in Singapore, which were registered in Singapore since 1872.

Records of birth which occurred overseas will not be available. If you require a copy of the birth certificate or extract for a birth that occurred overseas, you will need to approach the relevant foreign authorities in the country/place where the birth had occurred.
