Response To Media Queries On Lucy Teo

The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) reported Lucy Teo to the Police after the case was detected through our internal checks and investigations.

2         Lucy Teo’s responsibility as a Customer Service Officer did not involve the processing of applications for permanent residence. She was handling public inquiries on NRIC matters.

3         ICA takes a serious view of errant officers. ICA officers are expected to maintain a high standard of integrity. Officers who break the law will be dealt with, in accordance with the law. Lucy Teo has been interdicted from service since 19 December 2018.

4         ICA regularly reminds our officers on the expected conduct and behaviour in the use of IT systems. For example, advisories against the misuse of IT systems, such as unauthorised screenings, are disseminated to officers to reinforce the message that ICA has zero tolerance for any misconduct.
