The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority was alerted to a road traffic accident involving a bus at the Second Link towards Tuas Checkpoint at 4.21 am on 26 February 2019. A 35-year-old female bus passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The bus driver and 11 other bus passengers were conveyed to hospitals. Police investigations are ongoing.

2        The heavy vehicle lane for arrival buses and lorries has been re-opened since 10 am. Traffic towards Tuas Checkpoint remains heavy due to the usual morning peak period. We seek the understanding and cooperation from travellers using the checkpoint.
