ICA Launches New Info Pack, “Embrace Singapore, Where You Belong!”
ICA LAUNCHES NEW INFO PACK, “EMBRACE SINGAPORE, WHERE YOU BELONG!”
The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) has launched a new information pack titled “Embrace Singapore, where you belong!” at the Ministry of Home Affairs National Day Observance Ceremony on 7 August 2007.
2. “The information package is part of a broader effort not just to attract new immigrants but also to integrate them into the Singapore society,” said Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Wong Kan Seng at the event.
About the information pack
3. The information pack is targeted at current Permanent Residents, foreign employers and employees, foreign students and family members of foreigners based in Singapore on the various opportunities available to them should they wish to set up home in Singapore.
4. Information is presented in an uncluttered manner that encourages further exploration by the reader through the many channels of communication provided inside.
5. The thoughts and experiences of four foreigners who have become Singapore Citizens – some just recently, while others have taken up citizenship years ago – are also featured in the information pack. The four are: Mr Lee Kwok Cheong, CEO, Singapore Institute of Management; Mr Roger Jenkins, Artistic Director, Dramaplus Arts; Mr Ashraf Mohamed, Owner & Chef, Amirah’s Grill Restaurant & Café; and Ms Shobha Tsering Bhalla, CEO & Editor-in-Chief, India SE.
6. Copies of the information pack will be distributed by various government agencies such as the Economic Development Board, the Ministry of Education and People’s Association. Digital copes will also be made available for download on ICA’s website at http://www.ica.gov.sg .
