I REFER to last Friday's letter by Mr Lu Qimin, 'Install portable loos to ease Causeway wait'. The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) is doing its best to facilitate travel while maximising border-security efforts.
Every officer available has been deployed to conduct security checks. ICA has also augmented its manpower with resources from other Home Team departments. However, such security checks take time and we seek the understanding and cooperation of all travellers.
ICA has looked into public feedback and portable toilet facilities have been made available along the way to the land checkpoints at Woodlands and Tuas.

I REFER to the report, 'S'pore manhunt holds up travellers' (March 11) and suggest the authorities set up portable toilets beside the jams leading to the Causeway.
As a resident of Woodlands Park, I saw many truck drivers caught in the jam for hours and the drivers often sound their horns late at night to register their unhappiness. The wait is already unbearable and the lack of toilets along the way could have a devastating effect on their health too.
