Ministry of Home Affairs Investiture Ceremony For 2008 National Day Awards
A total of 481 Home Team officers will be conferred with the National Day Awards at the MHA Investiture Ceremony 2008 on Thursday, 11 Dec 2008 (7.30 pm, at the Home Team Academy). The annual awards presentation ceremony is held to commend outstanding Home Team officers for their capabilities and dedication to the common mission of making Singapore a safe and secure best home.
2. These outstanding officers will be receiving their awards (i.e. Commendation, Efficiency and Long Service Medals) from the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Wong Kan Seng, the Guest of Honour for the event.
3. Also appended in this news release are Annexes on: -

Award Categories
Description
Commendation Medals
Commendation Medals are awarded to individuals who have distinguished themselves through commendable performance and conduct, rendered consistently good service, delivered special performance under difficult circumstances, significant efficiency, competence and devotion to duty.
Efficiency Medals
Efficiency Medals are awarded to individuals who have shown superior performance, consistent diligence and dedication in their work.
Long Service Medals
Long Service Medals are awarded to persons who have completed 25 years of continuous service in the Government or any statutory authority.
