Extension of Traffic Diversion Trial at Woodlands Centre Road
The 3-month traffic diversion trial at Woodlands Centre Road from 15 September to 15 December 2008 by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), Traffic Police (TP) and Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) to improve traffic flow, will be extended to 31 January 2009 in view of the school holidays as well as the major public holidays during this period.
2 There will be no changes to the current traffic arrangements. During the restriction hours, the affected motorists wanting to enter the Woodlands Checkpoint from Woodlands Centre Road will not be allowed to turn into Woodlands Crossing. Instead, they should proceed straight into Old Woodlands Road or to BKE; these roads will serve as the alternative routes during the stipulated hours. The restriction hours for the various types of vehicles are summarized below:

A Motorcycles and Heavy Vehicles At all times
B SBST/SMRT and school buses No restriction at all times
C All other vehicles Mon – Fri (4.00 pm to 10.00 pm)
Sat,Sun and Public Holidays
(10.00am – 10.00 pm)
3 Motorists are reminded to follow the traffic signs that are displayed at Woodlands Centre Road and along roads leading to the Woodlands Checkpoint. Auxiliary Police officers will continue to be deployed at the traffic junctions and along these roads to guide motorists during the affected periods.
