56 Motorists Caught for Traffic Offences During Stepped-Up Traffic Enforcement Operations at Woodlands Checkpoint

Between 13 and 22 March 2026, officers from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) conducted stepped-up traffic enforcement operations at Woodlands Checkpoint, aimed at deterring and detecting motorists who commit traffic offences and engage in queue cutting and other dangerous road behaviour. 56 motorists were caught during this period.

2.        The breakdown of the detections and enforcement actions is as follows:

  • The 56 motorists committed traffic offences such as crossing double white lines, making illegal right turns, and stopping vehicles in positions likely to cause danger, obstruction or undue inconvenience, or to have cut queues.

o 43 vehicles were directed to make a U-turn and re-queue. Among them, 29 motorists were referred to the Traffic Police (TP) for further action.

o 13 drivers of foreign-registered vehicles were subjected to entry ban into Singapore for offences including crossing double white lines, as well as queue cutting.

3.        ICA takes a very serious view of motorists who violate traffic laws or do not comply with our officers’ instructions at the checkpoints, and thus compromise the safety of other motorists, and will not hesitate to take firm actions against them.

4.        We seek travellers’ continued patience and understanding, and to cooperate with our officers, comply with traffic laws and maintain lane discipline when using the land checkpoints, to create a safer and more pleasant experience for all.
