ICA’S Got ‘i’Dea!

Come 15 November 2010, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) will launch the iEnquiry, a one-stop online enquiry system that allows applicants to check the application status for ICA services any time of the day.

iEnquiry is the answer to your question!
2. Currently, there is no single point of enquiry for the various types of immigration facilities and those who submit an application for immigration services can only enquire about the status of their application via the same application portal. For example, a Singaporean who submits an application for a passport via the Application for Passport Online Electronic System (APPLES) can enquire the status of his application with the APPLES’ enquiry function. Similarly, those who submit applications over the counter at the ICA Building or by post will only be able to check the status of their applications either by calling the ICA hotline or enquiring through the ICA feedback channel.

3. With the introduction of iEnquiry, an applicant or a local sponsor will be able to check on the application status for immigration facilities without having to call or email ICA, or access the same application portal to make an enquiry. The iEnquiry system can be accessed online and can be used with or without a SingPass. A person who accesses the system with a SingPass will be able to view all the ICA applications he has made or sponsored. For those without a SingPass, the authentication of identity is done through a set of identifiers (eg. Foreign Identification Number and Date of Birth) before they can view their application status or an application that they sponsor.

Surf no further with iEnquiry
4. Besides checking on the application status for the different immigration services, iEnquiry has also subsumed the functions of iCheck and VERIFI - the two online tools which are used to verify the validity of identity cards and immigration passes respectively. The existing iCHECK and VERIFI tools will be available through the same portal as an added convenience to the user, so there is no need to separately access the different systems.

Benefits of iEnquiry
5. iEnquiry is designed to create a fuss-free experience for users. It also enables users to better manage their time by performing the checks themselves in a few simple steps online anytime, anywhere. The verification measures via a SingPass or identifiers aim to preserve the confidentiality of the application and the persons associated with the application.
