No contradiction between reply and website info
WE THANK Mr Jairam Amrith for his feedback ('ICA's reply contradicts website statement'; July 10).
There is no change in the way we process applications for the extension of short-term visit visas. The conditions stated on our website do not prevent or deny applicants from making a trip to the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
The website message only serves to remind rejected applicants not to submit another fresh application if they have no new facts or mitigating factors that may support their case.
However, in cases where applicants wish to convey special circumstances and seek reconsideration of their applications based on fresh or relevant supporting information, they can visit us for a face-to-face interview.

ICA's reply contradicts website statement
THE reply by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority ('Face-to-face appeal possible if online pass application fails'; last Saturday) is encouraging, and represents a change from the position stated on its website, which reads: 'When you apply online, you have agreed that you will not seek further extension irrespective of the outcome of the online application.'
Furthermore, the online turndown included a specific prohibition against visiting the ICA on the same matter.
