ICA Travel Advisory
The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) observed that buses plying across the Causeway did not seem to approach the Woodlands Checkpoint as per usual this morning. More travellers were seen walking towards Woodlands Checkpoint instead. ICA has deployed more officers at the ground to ensure travellers are cleared smoothly without compromising security. Officers are also on the ground to perform crowd control. Travellers who are travelling by foot along the Causeway are advised to be careful and to take note of their personal safety.
2. ICA will work closely with our Malaysian counterparts to monitor the situation. Motorists are advised to check on the traffic situation at both land checkpoints before setting off your trip. Travellers leaving Singapore by Woodlands or Tuas Checkpoint will be able to know in advance the traffic situation from LTA’s Expressway Monitoring & Advisory System (EMAS) installed along the AYE and BKE respectively.
a. Call the traffic information hotline at 6863-0117; or
b. Listen to TrafficWatch on the radio; or
c. Visit LTA’s One Motoring website (http://www.onemotoring.com.sg) or MyTransport.SG portal (MyTransport.SG) to check the latest traffic conditions before embarking on your journey.
3. We seek the understanding and co-operation of travellers when using the checkpoint.
