Mutual Arrangement For Automated Immigration Clearance Between Singapore And Hong Kong Special Administrative Region
With effect from 22 Sep 2014, eligible holders of Singapore passports will be able to enrol for the e-Channel services in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) and eligible holders of HKSAR passport will be able to enrol for the enhanced-Immigration Automated Clearance System (eIACS) services in Singapore. Currently, eligible holders of Singapore and Malaysia passport already enjoy similar facilities in Malaysia and Singapore respectively.
2. The implementation of mutual use of automated immigration clearance services will provide greater convenience for holders of the Singapore passport and HKSAR passport. It would also enhance trade, business and tourism links between both Singapore and HKSAR.
3. Under the mutual arrangement, holders of the Singapore passport aged 11 and above who have visited HKSAR for no less than 3 times in the past 12 months immediately before enrolment and have no adverse record in Hong Kong are eligible to enrol for the e-Channel services. They can bring their Singapore passport with validity of at least 6 months to the enrolment offices at Hong Kong International Airport or Macau Ferry Terminal to apply for the service.
4. Similarly, holders of HKSAR passport aged 11 and above who have made visits to Singapore no less than 3 times in the past 12 months immediately before enrolment and have no adverse record in Singapore are eligible to enrol for eIACS. They can bring their HKSAR passport with validity of at least 6 months and one recent colour photograph to the enrolment centres located at Changi Airport, Woodlands Checkpoint, Tuas Checkpoint and the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) Building to apply for the service.
5. Enrolment is on a voluntary basis and is free. Applicants must bring the relevant documents for the enrolment. Those aged 11 to 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and present documentary proof of relationship.
