Sexual Enhancement Drugs Worth Over $150,000 Seized

             In a joint operation by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) and the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), an estimated 50,000 units of assorted sexual enhancement drugs (SEDs) with an approximate street value of more than $150,000 were seized from a storage unit in Geylang.

2          On 18 August 2015, officers from HSA and ICA detained a male Chinese national who was seen carrying a parcel containing SEDs into a storage facility located in Geylang. The officers raided the unit and seized about 50,000 units of SEDs, intended for resale in Geylang. The 23-year-old male Chinese national is currently assisting in the investigations. 3          These SEDs often contain undeclared potent medicinal ingredients and other substance(s) controlled under the Poisons Act which can cause serious adverse reactions. It is an offence to import, sell or possess for sale such products containing these substances. Anyone found guilty of an offence under the Poisons Act is liable to a fine of up to $10,000 and/or imprisonment for a term of up to two years.
