Advisory On Scam Calls From ICA
It has come to our attention that members of the public have received calls from the number " 65 6391 6100" that is similar to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA)’s Call Centre number. The unknown caller requested the recipients to transfer money, in relation to cases or investigations which they were allegedly involved in.
2. The ICA would like to clarify that these calls were not made by our officers. ICA does not call members of the public to transfer money. The Police have since been alerted. Members of the public are advised to take the following precautions when they receive such calls:
•Ignore such calls and the caller’s instructions; and
•Do not transfer any money to the caller.
3. ICA takes a serious view of such scam calls as it undermines public trust in ICA. Members of the public may call the Police hotline at 1800-255 0000 or submit information online at www.police.gov.sg/iwitness should they have related information, and dial ‘999’ only if urgent Police assistance is required.
4. Members of the public can seek scam-related advice by calling the anti-scam helpline at 1800-722 6688 or go to www.scamalert.sg. They are also encouraged to help spread the word and share this advisory with their family and friends to prevent them from being the next victim of scam.
