Press Statement on Deployment of Thermal Imaging System at Land Checkpoints
The Thermal Imaging Systems will be introduced at the land checkpoints from today as part of a trial to assess their suitability for deployment there following their deployment at Changi Airport.
2 There will be two units deployed at the Woodlands Checkpoint and one unit at the Tuas Checkpoint. Their deployment at the land checkpoints is in line with efforts to reduce the number of imported cases.
3 All travellers must pass through the Thermal Imaging System. If the system detects a raised temperature, the traveller concerned will be referred to the nurses at the nearby nurse station for further checks and subsequently be transported to a doctor if required.
4 ICA will continue to monitor the situation closely and will be guided by the advice of the health authorities on the appropriate measures to take.
