Privacy Statement
- The StayHome@SG App is a platform provided by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) to facilitate the self-registration of the wristband and gateway device(s) issued to you by ICA to enhance Singapore’s efforts in the fight against COVID-19 through its Stay Home Notice programme. The devices issued to you do not interact with the App.
We Store Limited Data
- The only identity data that you are required to submit are:
- Your Name
- Your Date of Birth
- Your mobile number
- This is a one-time data collection when you register on the StayHome@SG App. The identity data you provide will be used to match against your records with ICA for the purpose of registering your device(s).
- Files and Camera permissions will be required to capture the IDs of the devices issued during registration. When prompted, persons serving SHN may be required to take pictures of their Wristband and Gateway for verification.
- Any data stored locally in your phone will be deleted when your app is uninstalled.
Collection and Use of Location Data
- Location permissions will be requested in the background from your phone.
- Location data is derived from your mobile device GPS feature. The data collected from your mobile device’s GPS location, where available, is to calculate the distance between the GPS location in your mobile device and your declared place of location to the Authority for serving the Stay Home Notice at that point in time, to ensure that you have not left your declared place of location for serving the Stay Home Notice. We do not perform active tracking of your actual location.
- Data collected will not be stored in the phone. Authority ceases to collect the GPS location data when the app is deleted after the SHN period.
Data Protection
- All data that you submit to us on the StayHome@SG App is stored in a secure server.
- To safeguard your personal data, all electronic storage and transmission of personal data is secured with appropriate security technologies.
- All data collected by the Authority are stored in secured servers and information is strictly only allowed to be accessed by Authority’s selected authorized personnel.
- Where appropriate, we may share necessary data with other Government agencies, so as to improve the discharge of public functions, including in its fight against the COVID-19 virus and to serve you in the most efficient and effective way, unless such sharing is prohibited by law.
- We will NOT share your Personal Data with non-Government entities, except where such entities have been authorised to carry out specific Government services.
Other Information
- The StayHome@SG App downloaded to and data stored in your mobile device do not interact with the StayHome@SG App that is downloaded to and data stored in other users’ mobile devices.
- We do not collect data about your Wifi or mobile network.
- We do not collect information about your phone or StayHome@SG App.
StayHome@SG App Only for Period of Stay Home Notice
- StayHome@SG App is designed for the purpose of self-registering the devices issued to you by ICA during the period of your Stay Home Notice. Once your Stay Home Notice period had lapsed, you can delete the StayHome@SG App. Only the data that you provided for device registration purposes is stored in your mobile device and will be deleted after the StayHome@SG App is deleted from your mobile device.
