Report Death that Occurred Overseas

If a Singapore citizen, Singapore permanent resident (PR) or Long-Term Pass holder* died overseas, the next of kin should register the death and get a death certificate from the foreign authority in the country where the person had died.

After the death is registered by the foreign authority (with a death certificate issued), the deceased's next of kin may report the death to ICA.

* Long-Term Pass holders include holders of Student’s Pass, Dependant’s Pass, Long-Term Visit Pass and Work Pass.
