Completion of Formalities and Issuance of Student's Pass

If your application is successful, ICA will issue you an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter. Your Student’s Pass will only be issued if you meet all the requirements stipulated in the letter.

You must be in Singapore on a valid immigration pass for the completion of formalities for the Student’s Pass to be issued. If you require a visa to enter Singapore, the visa will be automatically included in your In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter. You may enter Singapore by producing the IPA letter at the immigration checkpoint, where you will be granted a Visit Pass.

Before your Student’s Pass can be issued, you will need to download and acknowledge a copy of the Student’s Pass Terms and Conditions form.

Once you arrive in Singapore, you must report to this location as scheduled to have your biometrics enrolled.

If you have not been scheduled for any offsite enrolment, you must make an e-Appointment to complete formalities at ICA Building.

Fees

A S$60 issuance fee for Student’s Pass and a S$30 for Multiple Journey Visa (if applicable) are payable via Internet Banking, AMEX, a Visa or MasterCard credit/debit card online.

Issuance of Digital Student's Pass

From 27 February 2023, ICA will issue the Student's Pass in digital form only. A digital Student's Pass will be issued in place of a physical Student's Pass card.

Student's Pass holders will receive an email (from no-reply@file.gov.sg) at the email address provided in the Student's Pass application after the completion of formalities at the ICA Building or enrolment at school. The email will provide information on the retrieval of the digital Student's Pass on the FileSG website.

The digital Student's Pass can be viewed directly on the Singpass app after three working days, or downloaded from MyICA or FileSG website in PDF or OA format upon completion of formalities.

Any person who is unsure of the validity of a digital Student's Pass can verify it at the FileSG website.  Refer to FAQ for more information on how to verify a digital Student's Pass.
