Apply Online Eligibility

From 1 January 2018, Singapore citizens and permanent residents born before 1 January 1962, and who have not been issued with a replacement IC in the last ten years (i.e. current IC was issued before 1 January 2008), will be eligible for the optional National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) re-registration exercise.

Eligible NRIC holders will receive a notification letter from ICA within the next five years. You do not need to do anything until you receive ICA’s letter. Once you receive ICA’s letter, you can then choose to re-register your NRIC within one year from the date of the letter at the subsidised fee. As NRIC re-registration for this group is entirely optional, you can also choose not to re-register, if you do not wish to.

  • Privately created translations attested by the embassy of the country that issued the document, or notarised by a notary public in Singapore or the country that issued the document.
