Documents Required

Applicants below 16 years old
Applicants must come with the consenting parent / legal guardian and with the following original documents:
  • Birth certificate 
  • Identity Card (if applicable) 
  • MOE Student Card (applicable to students studying in Singapore between 7 and 15 years of age) 
  • Identity card of consenting parent or legal guardian (legal document of guardianship must be produced)
  • Citizenship Certificate (if you are a Singapore citizen by registration and have not been issued with an Identity Card)
  • Current Singapore Passport (a police report or Statutory Declaration is required if your passport is lost) 
  • One recent passport-sized colour photograph of the applicant that meets the following specifications: 
    • Sharp and clear, 35 mm wide by 45 mm high without border and taken within the last 3 months.
    • Taken full face with you looking directly at the camera with head straight, eyes open with no hair across and/or covering the eyes and eyebrows. Both edges of your face, and the top of the shoulders must be clearly seen. You must not look over any shoulder and your head must not be tilted.
    • Taken with the image of your face measuring between 25 mm and 35 mm from chin to crown of head. 
    • Taken without wearing any hat or other head covering, unless you habitually wear a hat or head covering in accordance with your religious or racial custom. If any such hat or other head covering is worn, it should not be white and the photograph must still be a full frontal view of your head and shoulders, showing your facial features in entirety with eyes open and clearly visible. 
    • If you wear glasses, the photograph must show your eyes clearly with no flash reflection off the glasses. The frame shall not cover any part of your eyes. Tinted glasses and sunglasses are not allowed .
    • Taken with uniform lighting with no flash reflection, no shadow, no uneven bright spot on the face and no red eyes.
    • Taken against a white background, except where your hair is white, the background must be light grey.
    • The photograph must show you with no chair back, toy or other person visible.
    • The photograph must be printed on high quality paper at high resolution with a matt or semi-matt finish with no ink mark or crease.

Note: Photographs that do not meet the requirements will result in a delay in the processing of the passport application.

Applicants 16 years old and above
Applicants must come in person and bring the following original documents: 
  • Identity Card 
  • Current Singapore Passport (a police report or Statutory Declaration is required if your passport is lost) 
  • One recent passport-sized colour photograph of the applicant meeting the following specifications: 
    • Sharp and clear, 35 mm wide by 45 mm high without border and taken within the last 3 months. 
    • Taken full face with you looking directly at the camera with head straight, eyes open with no hair across and/or covering the eyes and eyebrows. Both edges of your face, and the top of the shoulders must be clearly seen. You must not look over any shoulder and your head must not be tilted.
    • Taken with the image of your face measuring between 25 mm and 35 mm from chin to crown of head.

Procedure
Applications may be made at the service counters at Passports Unit, Citizen Services Centre, Level 3, ICA Building. Please ensure that you have the relevant required documents. Applicants below 16 years old must be accompanied by a parent/legal guardian.

There is no need to complete any form. Our counter staff will guide you through the application, and a personalised application will be printed for you at the counter.

Processing Time
You will be notified by post to collect your passport once it is ready. An acknowledgement card (pink card) will be mailed to you within one (1) week from the date after ICA receives your application.

Collection
You may collect your passport at the services counters at Passports Unit, Citizen Services Centre, Level 2, ICA Building. You are advised to collect your passport within 1 month of application. Passports not collected within 3 months of application will be cancelled and no refund of the passport fee will be given.

Note: If an applicant had submitted his/her application form in person over the counter, the applicant may come in person or authorise another person (proxy) in writing to collect the passport on his/her behalf. The proxy will need to bring along the letter authorising him/her to collect the passport, (pink) acknowledgement card and the required documents as stated in the card.
