Use of QR Code for Immigration Clearance at Woodlands and Tuas Checkpoints

Overview

Travellers arriving and departing Singapore by car via Woodlands and Tuas checkpoints can use QR codes instead of passports for faster and more convenient immigration clearance.

Before reaching the checkpoint:

Travellers create a profile and generate an individual or group QR code using MyICA mobile app.

At the checkpoint:

Travellers can self-scan the QR code instead of presenting passport to Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officer at the car counter.

The QR code is generated via the MyICA mobile app, which can be downloaded from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

Eligibility

All travellers* arriving and departing via Singapore land checkpoints by car can present the QR codes generated via the MyICA mobile app in lieu of passports, except:

  • First-time foreign visitors entering Singapore; and
  • Those re-entering Singapore using a different passport from their last visit to Singapore.

Travellers using passports that have not been used for entry into Singapore before will have to present their passport for immigration clearance. They will be able to use QR code for immigration clearance on their subsequent trips.

*All travellers include Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents, Long-Term Pass i.e., Foreign Identification Number (FIN) Holders and foreign visitors.
